Rivers State Commissioner for Environment, Tambari Sydney Gbara, has declared that Governor Siminalayi Fubara will serve a full eight-year term and handpick his successor in 2031.
This statement comes amid the ongoing political conflict between Governor Fubara and the faction loyal to his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.
In a post on his Facebook page, Gbara, who was the immediate past Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, said Fubara’s enemies thought they would unseat him within three weeks but were shocked when their plan failed.
