The Middle Belt Elders Council (MBEC), has advocated for the creation of more states in the country to bring government to every nook and cranny of the federation.
The MBEC believed that creation of more states in Nigeria would enhance development, peace and tranquility for states to take charge of their resources and contribute to the federal government.
A statement issued by the council’s chairman, Gen. Lekwot Zamani (rtd) stressed that, “this will give vent to the healthy competition among the states and infuse a deep sense of belonging and patriotism in everyone.”
