The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has described the recent bomb explosion in Zamfara State as a cowardly act carried out by the perpetrators.
The NGF, in a statement on Thursday by its Chairman and Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, mourned those who lost their lives and commiserated with the families of those affected by the incident.
It also expressed support for the Nigerian Military in the task of defeating the terrorists and other criminal elements in the country.
Abdulrazaq said the incident stands condemned in its entirety and sent heartfelt condolences to the people and government of Zamfara State on the unfortunate road explosion in which six persons reportedly lost their lives.
The Forum says the incident, which the police have blamed on the run-away local terrorist group, was a cowardly attempt to inflict collateral harm on the people.
“We condemn the development in its entirely, and wholeheartedly throw our weight behind the efforts of the Nigerian military to rout these violent, criminal elements from our land.
“As the security agencies finish off these elements, we call for improved vigilance and prompt report of suspicious activities to the authorities. This is necessary for the good of all.”
The Forum commiserated with Governor Dauda Lawal and the families of the victims of the sad incident, and prayed to God to admit the victims to paradise.
Meanwhile, the Police have submitted that the Lakurawa terrorist group is responsible for the recent bomb explosions that rocked some communities in Zamfara State.
The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Dalijan, said they are sure the Lakurawa group is responsible for the explosions because the bandits that operate in Zamfara don’t know how to make or use explosive devices.
