The Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf, has reaffirmed the state’s commitment to conducting the local government elections scheduled for October 26, 2024, despite a Federal High Court judgment that voided the poll.
The court had invalidated the election process on the grounds that card-carrying members of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) were serving as executive officers of the election commission.
