An officer of the Nigeria Police Force, Sgt. Abraham Uzuobo is currently undergoing disciplinary proceedings due to allegations of raping a minor who was in custody at the South-Ibie police division in Edo State.
Henzodaily learnt that the victim, a 17-year-old girl, had been detained on charges of possessing stolen property.
Reports indicated that Uzuobo entered the cell after Inspector Edith Eduma, a female officer on duty, briefly left her post.
It is alleged that he unlocked the cell and took the girl to the administrative department, where he exploited her vulnerability.
