President Bola Tinubu has described Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), as a force of nature who is redefining the meaning and concept of modern leadership in Nigeria.

Tinubu, who made this known during the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX) commissioning, also known as the Mahammadou Issoufou Way, reaffirmed their dedication to enhancing the quality of life for all Nigerians.

The president, who was represented by the vice president, Kashim Shettima, said that what is unfolding in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is a testament to what can be achieved by the Renewed Hope Agenda of the government.

“Issues undertaken hold profound significance for the FCT and its residents. The function of the Outer Southern Motorway will not only alleviate transport congestion and improve transportation. Still, it will also stimulate economic growth and create opportunities for prosperity.

“With the addition of four interchanges, we are enhancing connectivity and accessibility, making it easier for residents and visitors to navigate our beautiful capital city.

“I will, therefore, once again commend the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike and his remarkable team in the FCT for his visionary leadership and tireless dedication to the upliftment of our capital city,” the president noted.

He further said that under Wike’s leadership, they have witnessed strides in infrastructural development, urban planning and sustainable growth in the nation’s capital.

“Under Wike, we have proved to the world that leadership counts and this nation needs quality leadership. Completing this motorway extension is not merely a piece of engineering but a testament to the power of collaboration and partnership.

‘It is a shining example of what we can accomplish if we work together towards a common goal, transcending political divides and personal interest for our nation’s greater good.”

He added, “As we admire the basic infrastructure before us, let us not forget the countless hands that have laboured tirelessly to bring this project to fruition. We owe them all some gratitude.”

Earlier, Wike commended the chairmen of the six area councils for their support and encouragement in ensuring that the projects in the territory are completed without interference from anywhere.

“This is irrespective of political parties. All the six area council chairmen have always worked with us. Regarding collaborating, in terms of security and infrastructure, we have never had issues.

“Whether we are constructing roads in area councils, the companies or contractors have not been disturbed. So, for us here, everybody is supporting the agenda of the renewed hope mantra, irrespective of political parties,” he said.
