A WOMAN was killed after being hit by a car that swerved off the road in a horror crash.
The tragedy unfolded as the pedestrian walked home on Eastern Avenue, in Ilford at around 4.10pm this afternoon.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, she was pronounced dead at around 5pm.
It is understood the victim was had been Christmas shopping and was walking home when she was struck by the car.
Her next of kin have been informed by Police and are being supported by specialist officers.
