Governor Kefas, El-Buba Mourn 3 CAN Women

Governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas, and the founder of El-Buba Outreach Ministries International (EBOMI), Prophet Isah El-Buba, have mourned three members of the Women Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (WOWICAN) who died in a motor accident.

Consequently, El-Buba has canceled a prayer outreach slated for Jalingo, the state capital.

Kefas described the death of the women as heartbreaking and devastating.

Through his special adviser on media and digital communications, Mr Emmanuel Bello, the governor said the circumstances of their death were regrettably tragic and prayed for the repose of the souls of the dead and fortitude for the families, the Christian community, and the entire people of the state.

“The circumstances of their death are regrettably tragic as they were returning from the women’s wing CAN conference which ended yesterday in Gembu, Sardauna local government area of Taraba State,” he said.

While praying for the repose of their souls, the governor pledged his administration’s continuous commitment to safer roads, especially within areas that posed great threats to life. He said he has already directed local government chairmen to maintain existing roads with proper traffic controls, signage, and basic repairs. He promised to work hard to minimize the sad occurrences of road mishaps.

Also, in a statement issued in Jalingo yesterday and signed by Dr Olu Jacobs, the chairman of the publicity subcommittee of the prayer event, El-Buba said the death and injuries to 23 other members of the Christian community were painful and had made it imperative for him to postpone the outreach indefinitely.

“I am writing to inform you of a necessary and regrettable decision regarding the upcoming prayer conference scheduled for May 23rd to 25th, 2024. Due to the recent tragic incidents involving the unfortunate accident and loss of life, and the death of the younger brother of the CAN chairman and a prominent clergy of the CRC-N, it is with heavy hearts that the convener, Prophet Isa El Buba wishes to announce the postponement of the prayer conference to a later date.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the deceased, as well as with WOWICAN, the leadership of CAN Taraba State, the State Government, and the good people of Taraba State during this difficult time. We extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to all those affected by this unfortunate event. Please know that EBOMI and Prophet El Buba stand in solidarity with you during this time of grief and loss,” he said.
