Boniface

Nasarawa State governor Abdullahi Sule has launched a fleet of buses in a bid to subsidise the high cost of transportation across the state.

The buses named “Nasarawa Luxury Ride” were part of the palliative measures to cushion the effect of the removal of the fuel subsidy on the people of the state.

A statement by the senior special assistant to the governor on public affairs. Mr. Peter Ahemba, yesterday, said the gesture is a significant milestone in the transport sub-sector in the state.

According to him, the buses boast advanced technology, ergonomic interiors, and superior fuel efficiency, making them an ideal choice for both short and long-distance journeys.

He added that the vehicles are also equipped with facilities to cater for the needs of elderly passengers, people with disabilities and families traveling with little children, thus ensuring inclusivity across all segments of the society and overall comfort.

He said the introduction of the new buses is a conscious effort to alleviate the current economic hardship, and to improve the living condition of residents of the state.

“To enhance efficiency and proper management of the new buses, the State Government has engaged the services of Mash, a renowned transportation company to achieve the set target.

“The initiative is part of the government’s commitment to enhancing the transportation infrastructure and services in the state, with a view to improve the daily lives of residents and promote sustainable mobility options,” Ahemba said.
